We slow down and face the exhausting pressure of being judged by appearances, then let Scripture show why God’s evaluation works differently and better. We walk through key points of Samuel and David, define what “heart” is in the Bible, and choose freedom from people pleasing by living for God’s approval.

• the hidden cost of curating an image for others
• 1 Samuel 16 and the story behind “God looks at the heart”
• why even Samuel defaulted to the surface
• Jesus’ call to right judgment beyond appearances
• how Paul confronts the church about being judged by his appearance rather than his work
• the biblical meaning of the heart as motives and command center
• why nothing is hidden from God and why that can be comforting
• the choice between pleasing people and serving Christ
• what God looks for: loyalty, humility, justice and kindness
• Psalm 139 as a model prayer for surrender and growth
